Minority in a majority and the dark side of Independent India

The Independence day celebrations turned pale with the northeasterners receiving threat messages from a 'miscreant'. A situation of panic arose with 8,000 thousand people leaving Bengaluru. The people are in a state of deep stress fearing attacks.
WHAT AN irony! At a time when we have just celebrated Independence Day, every person from the North East staying outside the North East is living in fear and insecurity, because mobs of “miscreants” are allegedly moving around in a systematic fashion, attacking people from the North East.
There is an ethnic violence in Assam between the Bodos and Bangladeshi immigrants. However unfortunate that incident may be, both sides have suffered a lot. Of course, there are arguments and counter-arguments about how some of the Muslims are not illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, while others claim that the Assamese Muslims are also against the Bangladeshi immigrants.
Who is to be blamed? Should the Indian media be blamed for bringing in communal colors to the conflict?
More than 8,000 northeasterners, some reports suggest that the exodux numbers are even more, residing in Bengaluru are leaving the city following rumors of they being attacked, spread like wild fire.
Despite the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh and the Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde assuring the people that these are mere rumours, the northeasterners seem not to trust anyone at this point of time.
